My Hunting Rig

It is my Jeep 2001 Wrangler.  I've made some modifications to make it more trail worthy.  There are a lot more changes coming down the line as well.  For instance, I have a Puma 12V air compressor system to install, to make sure I make it back from the hills.

This is my Jeep and my hunting/camping trailer that I built.  Note, I have used the same wheels and tires that are on the Jeep.  This insures the Jeep spare fits all.   For travel, the tent lies flat and the front half of the tent bottom frame folds back, flush with the front of the trailer, and the whole thing gets covered.

My Puma 12V compressor I got on Ebay to be installed soon.

Note the spacer behind the wheel.   I had to use these for proper wheel clearance of the axle hubs.

The trailer still has a ways to go but it is a labor of love.

This was my first outing with the rig.  Note, this was before I changed the axle out.   The new axle allowed me to use the Jeep wheels and larger tires for better ground clearance.

I was bear hunting on this trip, with no deer tag.  So guess what I saw the very next morning, standing 15 feet in front of me, less than 40 yards from camp?   You guessed it a nice forkhorn legal buck.  We eyeballed each other for 45 seconds till I ran him off.  That's hunting huh?
